This issue is written focusing on the relationship between vocabulary size and incidental vocabulary acquisition in reading. Based on studies conducted by former linguists, a conclusion has been drawn that a larger vocabulary size will lead to a better proficiency of incidental vocabulary acquisition in reading. Thus by well-conducting the effect vocabulary size has on acquiring vocabulary incidentally, second language (L2) learners can access an effective long-term approach in vocabulary expansion.
