AbstractPeer feedback has been widely applied by writing teachers since 1970s. Then a combination in pedagogy of teacher and peer feedback appears to be more helpful in guiding students than teacher’s instruction alone.
This study views the application, benefits and limitations of peer feedback in improving ESL writing. Ensuring the quality of wrtiting products is no longer solely the obligation and responsibility of English writing teachers but that of students themselves. By collaboration among peers, students can better develop the ability to evaluate and self-edit their writing.
