American Presidential Election and Its Influence on Politics

Abstract

     The United States is the earliest and the most typical presidential countries, and the presidential elections are held every four year and often catch attention of the world. The United States presidential election system is complex. The program including: primary election, nomination of candidates, the campaign period, voters elect a president, electoral college vote for a president and inauguration. The thesis makes a study of the historical origin and development, the election procedure of the American presidential election, and its influence on American politics in order to have an in-depth understanding of American political operation.
     This thesis is composed of four parts. The first part briefly introduces what the presidential system is. The second part elaborated the United States presidential election procedures, hierarchical presentation of the presidential election in the United States several important stages, and inserted added some special election nouns' explanation. The third part of the American presidential election and its influence on American politics, as it is for domestic policy and foreign policy ( the influence of Sino-US relations ). Through examples and comparison analysis, finally summarizes the significance of study.

美国总统选举及对其政治的影响

内 容 摘 要

美国是最早最典型的总统制国家，而总统选举每四年举行一次。美国总统选举制度复杂，过程漫长。选举的主要程序包括预选、各党召开全国代表大会确定总统候选人、总统候选人竞选、全国选民投票选出总统“选举人”、“选举人”成立选举人团投票表决正式选举总统和当选总统就职典礼等几个阶段。美国总统选举世界瞩目，通过对美国总统选举的研究，深入了解美国总统选举政治，以把握美国政治的运行，了解美国总统选举对美国政治的影响。从而使英语学习者或者想了解美国政治的人可以从总统选举制的历史起源与发展、选举程序及其对美国政治的影响等方面更深入的了解美国总统选举。
    本文包括四个部分。第一部分首先概括性的介绍什么是美国总统制与选举制以及其世界瞩目的原因。第二部分阐述美国总统选举的程序，分层式地介绍美国总统选举的几个重要阶段，并插入式地补充说明部分特殊选举名词。第三部分阐述美国总统选举对美国政治的影响，如其对国内政策与外交政策（中美关系）的影响。通过举例论证和对比分析，最后总结论文的研究意义。
