A Study of Lexical Features of Business English from Stylistics Perspective
Abstract
It’s known to all that with the globalization of economy, international business has become more and more frequent and business English is playing an increasingly vital role in the international community. As a result, to operate Business English accurately and effectively in international trade exercises has become much essential and important. It is needed to conduct and improve more business practice increasingly and reasonably so that China’s economy is engaging into the globalization.

Business English is usually defined as English used in International business context and it falls under the category of English for Specific Purpose (ESP).Business English covers a series of wide English varieties in business, such as foreign trade English, blurbs, print advertisements job application letters, TV advertisements, etc.

This thesis are consist of mainly five parts for studying of the lexical features of business english from stylistics perspective. Chapter1 showed us how important to master business english, from this part it begins to introduce the reason why focuses on the study of the topic, Chapter2 concentrates on the definition, the development and the function of Business English. Chapter3 is an analysis of stylistic and lexical features of business English. Chapter4 is to introduce the issue of style, the sense of stylistics and how to use it in communication in business English successfully. Chapter5 is the conclusion; the part explains the thorough point about the thesis.

It is believed that the researches will be more helpful about the features of the usage of business vocabulary owing to the rapid developing growth of globalization as the new coming period, and better equip students with knowledge of Business English by the study on lexical features of Business English.
