从语言学角度分析广告英语的语言特点

 

作为一种传递信息的方式,广告的作用不可忽视和低估。广告已经逐渐成为我们交流所必不可少的一种艺术技能。相反,广告深深地影响了我们社会和经济的发展。本论文主要是从语言学角度研究广告英语的语言特点。事实上,广告英语的语言是社会文化的真实写照,具有相当丰富的内容和功能。一般来说,广告语言属于劝服性的语言。广告商竭尽全力地采用一切可能的技巧来实现其商业目的。随着中国加入世贸组织,国际贸易和文化交流已经越来越频繁。此外,该论文旨在进一步了解和探索广告英语的特点。众所周知,广告英语具有四种功能,即推销能力,记忆价值,注意价值和可读性。广告语言具有其独特的艺术魅力,一则成功的广告语言应当是优美,和谐,精确,优雅,幽默的。本论文从大量的实例入手全面分析广告英语的语言特色。此外,本论文结合合作原则从四个方面进行深入研究,即数量准则,质量准则,关系准则和方式准则。最后,该论文还探讨了广告英语对我们日常生活和社会经济的影响。

Abstract

As a way of transmitting information, the role of advertising can not be neglected and underestimated. Advertising has gradually become a must for our communication that affects the development of society and economy in turn as well as is an artful technique. The purpose of the thesis is to research the characteristics of language used in advertising English from the perspective of linguistics. In reality, the language in advertising English is a reflection of social culture with enriched contents and functions. Generally speaking, advertising language belongs to persuasive language, which leads to the advertisers making every effort to try every possible skill to realize their commercial purposes. With china entering WTO, the communication in international trade and culture exchange is becoming more and more frequent. What’s more, it is hoped that the paper can work in understanding and exploring further the features of advertising English. As we all know, advertising English language has four functions: selling power, memory value, attention value and readability. A successful advertisement is characterized by good English language that is beautiful, harmonious, concise, graceful, and humorous with highly artistic value. The thesis will give a comprehensive analysis of the features of advertising English with quantities of examples. In the final discussion, the paper aims at presenting the cooperative principle which includes four parts, namely maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relation, and maxim of manner. And then the impact of advertising English on our daily life and social economy will be discussed.
