关联理论视角下的幽默话语翻译——以《生活大爆炸》字幕翻译为例
《生活大爆炸》是一部美国情景喜剧，以“科学天才”为题材，讲述了四个科学宅男和一个美丽女孩的故事。这部情景喜剧以其简单、幽默和诙谐的风格，深受中国观众的喜爱。
本文以美国情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》为个案，运用文献分析、理论研究、比较分析、案例分析等研究方法，通过分析其中文字幕翻译，试图在关联翻译理论观下探讨美国情景喜剧字幕中的幽默话语的翻译，证明关联翻译理论对幽默话语翻译的诠释力，探索适当的翻译技巧和方法，以便在未来帮助字幕翻译工作者翻译出更幽默的字幕和为幽默话语的翻译提供一个新的视角。
本论文的作者选择《生活大爆炸》为个例分析和采用关联翻译理论探索和总结字幕翻译中的幽默话语翻译策略和技巧。作者首先简洁地介绍了理论基础，然后作者运用关联翻译理论来分析《生活大爆炸》字幕翻译具体的例子，证明了关联翻译翻译对字幕翻译中幽默话语的解释力。

The Translation of Humorous Utterances from the Perspective of the Relevance Theory-A Case Study of the Translation of The Big Bang Theory
Abstract:The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom(short for situation comedy)which is on the basis of “science talent”, telling the story of four scientific otakus and a beautiful girl. The sitcom gets an extensive popularity among Chinese audiences, with its easy, humorous and witty style.
This thesis attempts to probe into humor translation in subtitling of American sitcoms in the light of Relevance Translation Theory through a case analysis of the translated Chinese subtitles of an American sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, which is intended o prove the explanatory power of the Relevance Translation Theory when applied to humor translation in subtitling, to explore appropriate translation techniques and methods which may in the future help the subtitle translator produce better humorous translated subtitles and to offer a new perspective for translation study of humorous utterances through several research methods such as literature analysis, theoretical research, comparative analysis, case analysis, etc.
The author of this thesis chooses The Big Bang Theory as case analysis materials and adopts Relevance Translation Theory to explore and summarize the strategies and techniques of humor translation in subtitling. The author firstly make a brief introduction of the theoretical foundation and then the author applies the Relevance Translation Theory to the analysis of specific examples of translated subtitles in The Big Bang Theory to prove the explanatory power of the Relevance Translation when applied to humor translation in subtitling.
The author finds out that it is possible for humorous utterances in American sitcoms’ subtitles to be translated thanks to the Relevance Translation Theory, and under the guidance of the Relevance Translation Theory, the translation of humorous utterances in American sitcoms’ subtitle should abide by the principle of optimal relevance.Meanwhile, the author points out that subtitle translator should adopt flexible and appropriate strategies with certain complementary techniques to achieve optimal relevance and to ensure the communicative validity and humorous effect.
