《春江花月夜》英译意境再现

中国古典诗歌凝聚着丰富的文化内涵，是中国古典文学乃至世界文学闪亮的明珠。有着“孤篇盖全唐”之誉的《春江花月夜》是中国古诗的杰出代表作之一。诗歌翻译在文化交流中日益重要。而作为中国古诗最大的魅力所在，意境能否成功再现在一定程度上决定着诗歌译本的成功与否。因此，在充分分析了顾正阳先生对意境的三种分类的前提下，本文以《春江花月夜》的两个译本为例，对比分析其译本中表层意境，直抒胸臆，里层意境的再现。通过对比分析，指出不同意境再现的难度不一样，而译者对于不同意境再现的程度不同。许渊冲的译文在很大程度上再现了诗歌原来的意境，而Budd对于原诗的意象的误解以及诗行的缺失是造成其个别意境无法再现的主要原因。

ABSTRACT

Classical Chinese poetry is a brilliant pearl in the Chinese literature as well as in the world literature with rich and profound cultural connotation. Being reputed as “the piece of poem that tops those else in Tang Dynasty”, Chun Jiang Hua Yue Ye is one of the most outstanding poems in classical Chinese poetry. Poetry translation increasingly plays an important part in cultural communication. Artistic conception is the soul and the charm of poetry creation and appreciation, the reproduction of which marks the success of translation.Therefore, based on the analysis of the three kinds of artistic conception according to Gu Zhengyang, this thesis takes Chun Jiang Hua Yue Ye as an example to make a comparative study of the reproduction of explicit artistic conception, straightforward expression of emotions and implicit artistic conception in its two translated versions. From the comparative study, it is concluded that the difficulties of reproducing three kinds of artistic conception are different and the translators reproduce them to different degrees. Xu’s translation reproduces the original artistic conception to a large degree while Budd’s version fails to represent some artistic conception because of the misunderstanding of some images and the omission of some lines in the original text.
