从目的论视角来看《经济学人》的新闻翻译
21世纪是一个信息爆炸时代，每天都传递着各种各样的信息。新闻是我们日常生活中用以了解当今国际消息的重要途径，同时也是我们获取先进高科技知识的主要方式，向人们传播着政治、经济和文化方面的内容。为达到文化信息的有效传播与交流，新闻翻译就显得尤为重要。新闻翻译除了要遵循一般的汉译原则，还应在基于新闻英语自身的一些特点上，做到更贴近新闻的语体表达特点。
作为一份历史悠久、知名度高的英文期刊，《经济学人》至今尚未有官方的国内译本。网上有很多的学习平台提供译文，很多翻译爱好者成立学习小组，共同研究翻译译文，然而译者翻译水平参差不齐，翻译质量也良莠不齐。同时，由于考研很多题目出自《经济学人》，考研学生把《经济学人》当作学习英语的阅读资料。因此，对《经济学人》进行翻译实践有一定意义上的重要性。
本文以目的论为指导，并综合分析新闻在词汇、句法上的特征，选取2013年《经济学人》三篇关于中国的报道进行翻译实践，以供新闻翻译工作者、翻译学习者和考研学生参考学习，促进相互之间的学习交流。笔者希望通过此次论文提高自身的翻译能力，并帮助新闻翻译爱好者更好地了解新闻语言的特点，以便产出高质量的新闻译本。

ABSTRACT
The 21st century is an era of information explosion, with various news spreading every day. People can learn about the knowledge about politics, economy and culture through news. News is an important way to know more about international information in our daily life as well as acquiring advanced high-technology knowledge. Thus, news translation is particularly important in order to reach the goal of effectively spreading cultural information. News translators are supposed to obey the general rule of English-Chinese translation and also get close to the speech features of news based on the textual features of news.
As an English journal with long history and high profile, The Economist has not had its official Chinese version yet. However, there are translated articles in the platforms on the Internet. Many translation lovers set up study groups to translate articles together, but the overall quality cannot be guaranteed due to various translation capacities. Besides, some articles in The Economist form the basis of the exam questions in the Post-graduate Entrance Examination, therefore those students who prepare for the examination take The Economist as the reading materials for their English study. So, to some extent, it is of great importance to translate The Economist.
The present thesis is written by analyzing the textual features of news from two levels: word and sentence, under the guidance of skopos theory. The author selects three articles about China from The Economist of 2013 as case studies in the hope of offering study and reference to news translators, translation learners and students who are preparing for Post-graduate Entrance Test and promoting learning communication among them. Also, the author hopes to improve the ability of translating via the thesis and help the lovers of news translation understand thoroughly the textual features of the news so as to produce high-quality edition of news translation.
