基于奥运交接仪式文艺表演的中英文化差异表征研究

文化总是体现为各种各样的符号。符号是我们认识国家的一个凭籍。它们是历史积淀和选择出来的，是一个民族的文化精华，是最深刻的内容最鲜明地外化。中国和英国两国均有大量丰富而独特的文化符号。为探求两国间存在的诸多文化差异，笔者选取奥运交接仪式上中国和英国的两段八分钟文艺表演作为研究对象。通过二者鲜明而又各具特色的文化符号，透视其文化差异；同时，对舞台表演的方式和具体内容进行表征分析，从符号学、场面调度分析、再现以及受众等方面具体分析。得出启示：在全球化进程日益加剧的今天，人们应该增强跨文化交际意识，不同文化背景的人们在交流沟通过程中需要意识到彼此间的文化差异，以达到成功交际的目的；同时许多被报道的文化现象都是经由媒体表征之后的文化，具有了特定的内涵，因此对于媒介文化现象，受众应该积极地对其进行解读。此外，希望通过本文，亦能使公众形成从符号入手解读不同国家和民族文化的理念，同时有必要加深对媒介文化的认识。

Analysis of Representations of Cultural Differences between China and Britain in the Olympic Handover Performance

Abstract:  Culture is always represented by certain symbols. So symbols are what we usually use to understand a country. They are the essence of the national culture, representing the most significant and profound cultural connotations. As is known to all, China and Britain are just two countries which are rich in abundant and distinctive cultural symbols. In order to better explore the cultural differences between them, the author chooses the two 8-minute Olympic handover performances given by China (in 2004 Athens Olympics Games closing ceremony) and Britain (in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games closing ceremony) and does a research based on them. The distinctive cultural symbols shown on the stage could reflect the cultural differences between the two countries. At the same time, the author also performs a representational analysis of the content of the stage performances, as well as the way in which performances are arranged. Through representational analysis, it will be easier for the audience to understand the significance of these cultural symbols and the reason why they were chosen, and then the cultural connotations of the country. The methods such as Semiotics、Mise-en-scène、Representation and Audience analysis will be adopted. At last a natural conclusion will be drawn as follows: when people in different cultural background communicate with each other, they should realize the cultural differences so as to achieve successful communication. Besides, as for the media culture phenomena, the audience are supposed to actively think and interpret the media cultural phenomena for most of them already have been represented by the media. What’s more, the author hopes this paper will help readers form a habit of learning the culture of other countries and nations by starting with their typical cultural symbols, and learn more about the media culture and have a better understanding of the media which is indispensable in daily life.
