从死亡委婉语探析中美文化差异

死亡委婉语是一种很普遍的语言现象，同时它也是一种文化现象。产生于特定的文化背景下，反映了特定民族的历史，宗教，社会心理等诸多特点。委婉语的使用范围非常广泛。死亡委婉语是委婉语中最典型也是最重要的部分之一。在英汉语言中存在大量死亡委婉语。本文将通过对英汉两种死亡委婉语的分类分析，探析中美两国的文化差异。本文分为五部分，第一部分是引言主要简述本篇研究的背景、目的、重要性。第二部分将介绍委婉语的定义和死亡委婉语的产生。第三部分是文章的主体，将通过死亡委婉语分析中美两国在宗教，等级制度，价值观，社会风俗，法制建设这4个方面的差异。第四部分简要介绍英汉两种死亡委婉语的趋同性。第五部分，总结全文

Cultural Differences between China and America
from the Perspective of Euphemism for Death
Abstract：Euphemism is a common and long-standing linguistic phenomenon in human society as well as a cultural phenomenon. It emerges with particular cultural backgrounds and reflects the characteristics of history, religion, customs and social psychology, and many other aspects of a nation. Euphemism has an extensive range of applications.
Death euphemism, which plays a vital role in linguistics, is an important and typical component of euphemism. There are a large number of death euphemisms in both Chinese and English. This paper aims to probe into the cultural differences between China and America through the classification and analysis of death euphemism. The purpose of acquaintance and familiarity with the cultural connotations of death euphemism is to enhance people’s deep understanding of language and culture and improve the cross-cultural communicative competence to make communication smoother.
