英文歌曲翻译策略初探:基于功能对等理论的分析

在二十一世纪的今天，英文歌曲正在被世界逐渐了解和接受，因此，通过对英文歌词进行汉译，对实现文化的共享和音乐的交际性具有现实意义然而目前国内对英文歌曲的中文翻译居多，许多学者和研究者更倾向于对英文歌曲的汉译理论和策略进行探索和研究，而对于优秀的英文歌曲，特别是对一些脍炙人口的英文歌曲的汉译却少之又少。本文以美国功能派翻译理论家尤金奈达的功能对等理论提出的功能对等为翻译理论指导，结合英文歌曲，对这些理论在英文歌曲汉译中的具体运用进行了分析。最后得出英文歌曲翻译需要运用三个翻译策略才能更好地进行翻译创作的结论。另外，本研究认为运用功能对等理论的三个翻译方法，最后可以达到译曲与原曲词调、韵律与情感的和谐统一。

A TENTATIVE STUDY ON STRATEGIES FOR ENGLISH SONG
TRANSLATION : BASED ON THE FUNCTIONAL EQUIVALENCE THEORY

Abstract: According to Eugene A. Nida, the famous theoretical translator who put forward the functional equivalence theory, he gave the definition of translation like this, “translation consists in reproducing in receptor language the closest natural equivalence of the source-language message.” The definition basically saw translation as a code-switching operation. Equivalence as a basic concept or even constituent of translation was never really questioned. Equivalence-based approaches focused on the source text, the features of which had to be preserved in the target text, and the target text must be equivalent to the source text. Equivalence theory influenced the field of translation, both domestic and abroad. As for the translation of the English song, a song not only has steady rhythm but also its own style. It includes two parts in its rhythm:lyric rhythm and tune rhythm. We can apply the functional equivalence theory into English song translation, and make the two parts of the song be unified and the style of the song be translated. At last, the listeners will enjoy the original beauty of the song.
