自然拼读法在英语专业四级听写学习中的应用研究


根据英语专业四级考试大纲要求,专业四级听写材料是一篇有意义的文章,是一串连贯的句子,句中单词的重要性不容忽视。据以往相关经验,学生听不清单词是专业四级听写的一大障碍。自然拼读法是一种教授单词的音形对应关系的教学方法。目前,自然拼读法在中小学的应用与研究较多,将其与专业四级听写相结合的研究尚有空缺,本论文对自然拼读法在英语专业四级听写学习中的应用做了研究。
本论文文献综述部分主要阐述了目前的听写现状及影响听力的因素,自然拼读法的概念及自然拼读法如何在听写中应用。以研究自然拼读法是否可以促进英语专业四级听写分数提高为目的,采用测试法,实验法和访谈法为研究方法。研究对象为63名运城学院英语专业大学二年级学生。测试法具体分为前测和后测,测试内容为专四模拟考试听写部分。实验法主要以教授实验组自然拼读法为主。访谈法主要面向学习自然拼读法的学生。实验在运城学院外语系英语专业大学二年级两个班进行。选外台收听课程的同学为一组即实验组,选应用语言学课程的同学为二组即控制组。通过与任课教师沟通,由教师对实验组进行自然拼读法的教学,控制组进行自由学习,不做要求。实验时间为八周。实验结果利用社会科学统计软件SPSS17.0进行分析。
通过对数据结果进行分析,本论文实验结果表明:第一,运城学院英语专业学生听写平均得分为两分或三分,听写能力有所欠缺;第二,运用自然拼读法的教学方法后,实验组的后测分数有一定的提高;第三,经学生反馈,学习自然拼读法对他们见词能读,听音能写有很大的帮助。
本论文通过对自然拼读法的教学研究,发现学习自然拼读法可以对英语专业四级听写部分产生积极正面的影响,但是否可以整体提高学生的听写能力还须进一步的研究分析。在今后英语教学中,教师可以运用自然拼读法来帮助学生学习英语。与此同时,此论文为英语教学听力实践提供了参考。

The Application of Phonics in TEM4 Dictation Learning
 
Abstract: According to the exam outline of TEM4, dictation material of TEM4 (Test for English Majors Four) is a meaningful article, a string of coherent sentences. The importance of words cannot be ignored in the sentence. According to the past experience, it is a major obstacle for students to hear the word clearly in TEM4 dictation. The Phonics is a teaching method that teaches the correspondence between the sound and the spelling of word. At present, the application and the study of the Phonics in preliminary English teaching is quite a lot, but there is still a vacancy in study of the combination of Phonics and TEM4 dictation. This paper studies the application of Phonics in TEM4 dictation learning.
In literature review, this paper summarizes the current situation of dictation; the influencing factors for students’ listening skills; the conception of Phonics and the application of Phonics in dictation. This paper purpose is whether Phonics can improve students’ performance of TEM4 dictation. The test method, the experimental method and the interview method are used for this research. The object of study is 63 sophomore students who major in English from Yuncheng University. The test method is divided into the pre-test and post-test, and the context of test is dictation part of simulation test of TEM4. Experimental method is mainly to teach Phonics in the experimental group. The interview is mainly for students who study Phonics. The experiment was carried out in two classes of sophomore from Department of foreign languages in Yuncheng University. Students who selected the “Audio-visual of Foreign Media” course are regarded as the first group of experimental group, and students who selected the “Applied Linguistics” course are seen as the second group of control group. Through the communication with the teacher, the teacher of “Audio-visual of Foreign Media” course teaches Phonics in the experimental group, and students who belong to the control group learn dictation freely. The experiment time is eight weeks. The social science statistical software SPSS17.0 is used to analyze the experimental results.
Through the analysis of the data results, the experimental results show: Firstly, the mean score of dictation is two or three; the dictation ability of English majors in Yuncheng University is weak; secondly, after using the Phonics method, test scores of the experimental group have certain improved; thirdly, through students feedback, Phonics can help them to write down word when they listen it, and read it when they see word.
Through research in Phonics, it is found that the Phonics has positively affection on TEM4 dictation of English majors. But, further studies should be given to analyze whether Phonics can prompt the improvement of students’ dictation ability. In the future English teaching, teachers can use Phonics to help students to learn English. At the same time, this paper provides a reference for English listening teaching practice.
