现代主义与现实主义在劳伦斯《虹》中的融合

Lawrence’s The Rainbow is a controversial novel. Dozens of studies over the past 20 years have mostly focused on its art form. Some show that The Rainbow is just a realistic work or a modern masterpiece. This paper argues that the union of realism and modernism is the whole picture of the novel. To explain more fully the reasons of this view, the paper undertakes a comprehensive analysis on the modern characteristics from the traditional structure of the program, the narrative angle, the scene description and so on; correspondingly, this paper tries to analyze The Rainbow’s realistic characteristics from psychological analysis, interior monologue, symbolic metaphor image, revealing that The Rainbow is a combining work of modernism and realism.

摘要：劳伦斯的《虹》是一部具有争议的作品。很多年来一直被作为研究对象，有人认为《虹》是现实主义的，而有人则认为它是现代主义巨作。本文认为现实主义与现代主义的有机结合才是《虹》的真正全貌。本文从结构模式、叙事角度、场景描绘等方面来分析《虹》的现实主义特征；从心理分析、内心独白等方面来分析它的现代主义特征,从而论证《虹》是一部现实主义和现代主义结合的作品。
