基于顺应论的《肖申克的救赎》中的模糊语言研究

模糊性作为人类自然语言的特性之一，在人际交往中发挥着重要作用。模糊语言已经渗透到人类日常交往的方方面面。因此，对于模糊语言的研究是非常有必要的。近30年来，国内外学者已对模糊语义进行了大量研究，但从模糊语用学角度来探讨模糊语的研究还比较少。
本文将会基于维索尔伦的顺应论原则，分析电影《肖申克的救赎》中模糊语的语用功能。作者根据顺应论原则及顺应论的三个核心概念，即语言选择，选择保证和选择视角，对电影中出现的模糊语从两个方面，四个角度进行了分析。通过选取一些经典对话，作者分析了该影片中模糊语使用者的两个主要目的：自我保护和使话语变得委婉动听。同时作者分析了模糊语的使用为说话者带去的两种影响：积极影响和消极影响。研究发现，影片中的主人公们会有意识地使用模糊语达到推卸责任和圆滑处事等目的。
模糊语言在人们的日常交流中起着重要作用，它是一把双刃剑，利与弊同在。模糊语的正确运用可以为使用者带去好处并达到交际目的。而模糊语的不正确运用只会给使用者带去负面影响。作者希望通过本文对模糊语的研究，加深语言使用者对模糊语的了解，并能善用模糊语，让它在日常交际中发挥积极作用。

An Analysis of Vague Language in The Shawshank Redemption
Based on Adaptation Theory

Abstract
Vagueness as one of the characteristics of human natural language, plays an important role in interpersonal communication. Vague language has been penetrating into every aspect of human daily communication. Therefore, it is very necessary for people to study vague language. For nearly thirty years, scholars at home and abroad have done lots of researches on vague semantics, but the study from the perspective of vague pragmatics is still few.                         
This thesis will analyze the pragmatic functions of vague language in The Shawshank Redemption based on Adaptation Theory. The author carries on a thorough analysis of the two aspects and four angles of vague language in the dialogues of the movie based on the principle of adaptation and the three core concepts of Adaptation Theory. Through choosing the classic dialogues, the author analyzes the two main purposes of the language users, to self-protect and to be tactful. The author also analyzes the two impacts of using vague language: positive impact and negative impact. The paper finds that the language users in this movie use vague language consciously to reach the goal of shedding of responsibilities, being flexible and so on.
Vague language plays an important role in people’s communication. It is a double-edged sword with advantages and disadvantages. The proper use of vague language can achieve the communicative goal while the incorrect use of it only brings a bad influence to the user. The author hopes through the analysis of vague language, language users can deepen their understanding about vague language and let it plays a positive role in our daily communication.
