英语商务信函写作中You-Attitude的语用研究


随着全球化的发展,商贸信函在商务活动中越来越发挥着不可忽视的作用,它已经被视为建立公司良好形象和为公司的长远发展创造机遇的重要的手段和媒介。在很大程度上,一封彬彬有礼,措辞得体的商贸信函甚至可以帮助公司抓住未来发展的主动权。这也是为什么越来越多的人重视英语商贸信函的写作。
“You-Attitude”作为一种从读者立场出发的重要的写作原则,其特点在于站在读者的需求和利益上考虑问题。本文在结合合作原则,礼貌原则和面子理论的基础上从词汇和句子的层面上,通过例句的对比讨论了“You-Attitude” 原则在商贸信函写作中的运用。并在此基础上进一步证明了“You-Attitude” 原则在英语商务信函写作中作为基本原则的核心地位。

A Pragmatic Study on “You-Attitude” in Business Letters Writing
Abstract
English business letters play a major role in the business activities, especially with the expansion of globalization. It has been regarded as the key of building a perfect company image and creating opportunities for company’s development. To some extent, as a vital media of communication, a polity and appropriate letter writing will help the company to seize the initiative for the future. It’s understandable that there is growing concern about the English business letters writing.
“You-attitude” is a significant writing principle which emphasizes the reader’s point of view, and takes into account reader’s needs and interests. This paper, by using the Cooperative Principle, Politeness Principle and Face Theory of pragmatics, discusses the application of “You-attitude” in the writing of business letters at lexical and sentence levels. At the end of the analysis of the thesis, the conclusion will be obviously drawn that the “You-attitude” principle is the core principle of the successful English business letters writing.
