大学英语教学中“中国文化失语”现象及应对策略

【内容摘要】

大学英语教学中“中国文化失语”现象及应对策略The Phenomenon of “Chinese Culture Aphasia” in College English Teaching and its Countermeasures近些年来中国文化日益受到全世界的关注。由于片面地灌输西方的文化知识忽视中国传统文化,极大地限制了跨文化交际和中国文化的对外传播。此外,许多中国学生忽视对中国优秀传统文化的学习,无法用英语准确地介绍中国文化,出现了“中国文化失语”现象。通过对山东农业大学和菏泽学院的210名非英语专业学生进行问卷调查以及对两校内10名大学英语教师访谈的结果进行分析、讨论,从学生和教学两个角度分析得出“中国文化失语”问题较为严重,从而找出大学英语教学中存在的问题。通过在大学英语教学中强调中国文化学习的重要性、设置学习评价、加强语言实践以及创新教学模式等应对措施来提高学生的跨文化交际能力。

The Phenomenon of “Chinese Culture Aphasia” in College English Teaching and its Countermeasures
 
Abstract: Chinese culture has attracted worldwide attention in recent years. Because of the one-sided inculcation of western cultural knowledge and neglect of the exchange and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture, cross-cultural communication and the spread of Chinese culture are greatly limited. What is more, many Chinese students neglect to learn Chinese traditional culture knowledge, so that they cannot accurately introduce Chinese culture in English, and the phenomenon of “Chinese Culture Aphasia” appears. Through the analysis and discussion of 210 non-English major students in Shandong Agricultural University and Heze University, and the results of interview with 10 college English teachers in the two universities, the problem of “Chinese Culture Aphasia” is serious from two perspectives of students and teaching, so as to find out the problems in the development of college English teaching. Through attaching importance to Chinese culture, setting up learning evaluation, strengthening language practice and innovating teaching mode in college English teaching, students’ cross-cultural communication competence will be improved.
