国际商务英语中委婉语的语用功能摘要随着经济的发展，对外贸易迅速发展。委婉语作为一种特殊的语言形式和文化现象,在国际贸易交往中一直被人们视为构建和谐人际关系的桥梁。在人类文明日益发展和人际交往不断扩大的今天，委婉语更是发挥着不可或缺的作用。长期以来许多语言学家和学者分别从不同的角度对委婉语这一语言现象进行了研究。主要集中在委婉语的定义﹑分类﹑构造手段﹑构造方式等方面进行理论分析，或者从语用学的角度来探讨它与合作原则﹑礼貌原则﹑面子理论的关系。本文则依据委婉语的主要语用功能，以委婉语的定义为切入点，结合委婉语的主要语用功能，对委婉语在商务沟通中的语用功能进行了阐述，由此提出委婉语在商务沟通中的具体策略与技巧。

The pragmatic functions of euphemism in business English
Abstract
With the development of economy, the business is not long limited to one country. The international trades are more and more popular.
people always apply pragmatic principles in the utilization of euphemism consciously or subconsciously in business communication. Euphemism, as a cultural phenomenon as well as a special linguistic form, is often said to be a sort of “lubricating oil” in language communication and the bridge to establish harmonious social relationships. It has become an indispensable element in people’s interactions with the development of modern society. Many linguistics and scholars have studied euphemisms from different angles. Their studies are often confined to the definition, classification and formation of euphemism, or they often analyze its relationships with Cooperative Principle, Politeness Principle and Face Theory. This thesis is intended to analyze the pragmatic functions of euphemism from the pragmatics functions of euphemism in business English. In the thesis, firstly the author tries to introduce the original of euphemism and analyze the definitions. Then the author attempts to analyze its three functions of euphemisms in English: function of taboos, function of politeness. Function of beautifying. Euphemism is closely related to pragmatics. The next part, the author analyzes the pragmatic function of euphemism in business communication. Then give the strategy and skill for using euphemism in the course of communication.
