随着经济全球化进程的加快和我国改革开放政策的实施，尤其是正式加入WTO之后，我国逐渐加强同外国经济交流与合作，并与他们建立了持久贸易关系。作为商事中一种重要的交流方式，商务英语合同在世界经济贸易活动中的作用越来越重要。由于不同国家文化背景、传统习俗、地理位置等方面的差异，贸易双方通常使用国际通俗英语来制定商务合同。然而在实际经济活动中，由于合同条款理解错误、译文措辞欠妥、语义模糊不清等原因，合同双方当事人仍然避免不了各种各样的贸易纠纷。鉴于此，我们必须首先熟悉商务英语合同的语言特色，保证其语言简洁清晰，措辞严谨准确，格式规范。只有这样，我们才能更好地实施“走出去”发展战略，不断提升我国国际地位。在该篇论文中，作者在介绍商务英语合同基本知识的基础上，着重分析了商务英语合同的语言特色。通过作者的分析，我们将对商务英语合同的语言有一个更加深入的理解。本篇论文有三部分组成：第一章介绍了商务英语合同的基本知识，包括商务英语合同的定义、结构及分类等；第二章主要介绍了商务英语合同的语言特色，包括商务英语合同的词汇特点和句法特点；第三章介绍研究商务英语合同语言特色的意义。

A Study on Linguistic Features of Business English Contracts
Abstract
With the acceleration of the process of economic globalization and China’s implementation of the policy of reform and opening-up, especially after its official entry into WTO (the World Trade Organization), China’s gradually enhanced economic and commercial exchanges and cooperation with many foreign countries and built permanent business relations with them. Being an important form of communication in business affairs, business English contract is playing an important role in international economic activities. Owing to the differences in cultural background, traditional customs and geographic location, the parties involved in the trade usually use international general English to make a contract. However, in actual economic activities, the two parties of business English contract still cannot avoid various kinds of disputes because of misunderstanding of the provisions and conditions of the contract, misuse of language or ambiguity of meanings of the sentences. Given to this, we must be familiar with the linguistic features of business English contracts first and ensure that the language used in the contract should be concise, clear and correct and that its format should be formal. Only in this way can we practice the “walking outside” developmental strategy better and raise the international status of our country. In this thesis, the author, on the basis of introduction of some general knowledge about business English contracts, mainly analyzes the linguistic features of business English contracts. Through the analysis of the author, we’ll have a better understanding of the language used in business English contracts. This paper is composed of three chapters:
Chapter One introduces some basic information about business English contracts, such as the definition of business English contracts, their components and their types.
Chapter Two mainly introduces the linguistic features of business English contracts, in terms of lexical features and syntactic features.
Chapter Three indicates the significance of the analysis of linguistic features of business English contracts.
