概念隐喻及其在英语阅读中的应用
摘  要

论文对概念隐喻及其在英语阅读中的运用进行了研究。认知语言学的发展使隐喻研究由修辞学领域转入到认知研究领域。莱考夫和约翰逊的概念隐喻理论是较为系统和成熟的隐喻认知理论，其理论核心是隐喻是人类用某一领域的经验来理解另一类领域的经验的认知活动。概念隐喻作为一种新的认知方式，对英语学习，尤其是对英语阅读理解起着重要的指导作用。文章通过介绍隐喻理论的发展，分析概念隐喻的工作机制，从词汇和语篇两个层面详细分析了概念隐喻在阅读理解中的应用。文章具体分析其在理解名词，动词和介词过程中的作用。概念隐喻还有助于人们根据已知的图式理解未知和新的图式，从而促进整个语篇的理解。因此，英语教师应在教学中采取有效的措施，切实把隐喻思维引入到英语阅读课堂，逐步培养学生创造性的隐喻思维。

A Study of Conceptual Metaphor and Its Application in English Reading Comprehension
 
ABSTRACT

The paper makes a study on conceptual metaphor and its application in English reading comprehension. The development of cognitive linguistics shifts the metaphor study from a rhetorical perspective to a cognitive perspective. Conceptual metaphor theory advanced by Lakoff and Johnson is a relatively systematic and mature cognitive metaphor theory. The core of the theory is that metaphor is one kind of cognitive activities of human beings to understand the experience in one domain with that in another domain. Conceptual metaphor, as a fresh cognitive thinking mode, is playing an instructive role in English study, especially in English reading comprehension. On the basis of the introduction to the development of metaphor study and analysis of the mechanism of conceptual metaphor, the author analyzes its application in reading comprehension from two aspects in detail: the application to words understanding and to discourse comprehension. It specifically analyzes the application of conceptual metaphor to the understanding of nouns, verbs and prepositions. Conceptual metaphor is also conducive for people to understand the new and unknown schemata according to the known schemata, consequently promoting the comprehension of the whole text. Therefore, it’s necessary for English teachers to make effective measures to introduce metaphorical thinking to the English reading classroom and thus gradually train the creative metaphorical thinking mode of the students.
