英语旅游广告语言特征初探
摘  要

文章旨在通过对英语旅游广告进行分析,揭示英语旅游广告的语言特色。文章首先介绍了英语旅游广告的定义,种类,作用及作此论文的必要性,然后从语言学的角度,通过大量的英文旅游广告实例,分析广告中的词汇,句法和篇章,针对其词汇特征,句法特征及修辞特征进行了研究。文章侧重分析了旅游广告英语的如下特征:英语旅游广告多用及巧用形容词,代词和口语化词汇,创造性造词和运用时髦词汇;句式简单,多用及常用简单句,省略句和祈使句,巧用疑问句及少用否定句;修辞丰富,常用押韵、比喻、拟人、双关、排比和重复等修辞手段,多种修辞的灵活交叉运用以及图文结合修辞手法的巧妙使用,使旅游广告更具可读性和艺术性。

A Study of Language Features of English Tourism Advertisement
 
ABSTRACT

This thesis aims to examine the language features of English tourism advertisements. Based on a review of the academic literature on definition, classification, functions and objectives of tourism advertisement, this thesis studies three aspects of their language features: lexical, syntactical and rhetorical. This thesis focuses on analyzing the following linguistic characteristics of English tourism advertisement: clever use of different kinds of words such as adjectives, pronouns and colloquial words; creative use of coinage; proper use of vogue words; frequent use of simple sentences, elliptical sentences and imperative sentences; clever use of interrogative sentences; rare use of negative sentences; abundant use of rhetorical devices such as alliteration, metaphor, simile, personification, pun, parallelism and repetition; utilitarianism and clever cooperation of various rhetorical devices to make the tourism advertisements more vivid and readable.
