网络交际情感符初探
摘  要

情感符（也称“笑脸符”）是指在网络交际中表达微笑或不愉快等面部表情的一系列键盘制作符号。作为一种全新的交际符号，情感符以其独特的构成形式与表意功能引起了不少语言学者的兴趣。文章对情感符的定义做了解析，并讨论了情感符来源及其出现的原因，探讨了情感符的构成要素及其构成方式，并分析了情感符的特点、分类和作用。情感符通过借助各类原有的书面符号来表述新的内容，它的主要构成元素有标点符号、字母和数字等等，通过符号、数字、标点及其他特殊符号来表示人面部的眼、口、鼻等部位，从而表达使用者的情感代替一些较简单常用的网络语言。据其书写形式、构成元素、所表达的意义、及使用地域等情感符可以分为许多类型，它帮助使用者表达自己的情感，增加网络对话的亲切感和情趣性，加快网络信息交流的速度。形象直观的情感符是现代网络生活的缩影。

A Study of Emoticon in Cyber Communication
 
ABSTRACT

Emoticon (also known as smiley) is a representation of a facial expression created by typing a sequence of characters in cyber communication. As a series of totally new communicative signs, emoticons are specialized for their construct style and ideographic function and excite a lot of philologists’ interest. The paper gives a definition to emoticon, and discusses its origins and the causes of its emergence. Then, the author introduces the fundamental constituents of emoticon and its styles of component. After the characteristics of emotion and its classification are discussed, the paper also aims to analyze its functions. Emoticons express new content by borrowing or reforming different original writing symbols. Made up of symbols, letters, numbers, etc., an emoticon often shows the three parts of the face—¬the mouth, the nose, and the eyes. Emoticons can not only help express the speaker’s emotion but also represent some simple words in e-language. The classification of emoticons is based on the style of writing, fundamental constituent, meanings, etc. As a replacement for facial expressions and other emotional cues lacking in text-only communication, emoticons can add savor to conversation and attract people’s attention. It visualizes, not only helping the speaker convey their emotion but also full of lifelikeness and sentiment. It is the feeling language in the web language.
