论概念隐喻在经济英语中的应用
摘  要

论文旨在通过对概念隐喻的了解来分析英语经济文章中存在的隐喻方式，使读者更好的理解这些经济现象。隐喻曾在很长一段时间被视为单纯的修辞手段。1980年后，Lakoff & Johnson 在他们的语言学著作中提出概念隐喻理论，认为隐喻不仅仅是语言修辞手段，而且也是一种思维方式。而经济学家在描述一个复杂又抽象的经济现象时，经常会用通俗易懂的方式让人们了解其本质，这些表达方式中也包含了大量的概念隐喻。论文先简单回顾了隐喻研究的发展过程，然后介绍了概念隐喻理论的主要观点，并探讨了概念隐喻的主要特征。接着，在著名的英文报刊杂志的一些经济语篇中收集了一些典型的隐喻表达式，并按照他们的源域进行分类，找出其中的概念隐喻。最后着重分析了这些经济语篇中概念隐喻的隐喻表达式，源域以及隐喻对理解抽象经济概念的作用。

ABSTRACT

The paper is focused on analysis of conceptual metaphor in economic English articles, based on the cognitive theory of metaphor, in order to understand the economic phenomena and activities better. Metaphor used to be regarded as a rhetorical device for a long time. Since the 1980s, Lakoff & Johnson argued the conceptual metaphor theory in their literature, took the metaphor not only a figure of speech, but also a figure of thought, and the figure of speech is just a surface manifestation of such metaphorical figure of thought. To describe a complex and abstract economic phenomena, economists often use the easy way to make people comprehend its nature, which includes a large number of conceptual metaphor expressions. As to the organization of the paper, after reviewing the development of metaphorical research, the paper elaborates some major viewpoints of the conceptual metaphor theory, and discusses its main features. Then, the paper collects some metaphorical expressions from some famous economic quotation in the English newspapers or magazines. Moreover, conceptual metaphor is formulated after the classification in accordance with their source domain. At last, the thesis analyzes the metaphorical expressions, source domains and functions of conceptual metaphors in the comprehension of abstract economic concepts and phenomena.
