Abstract
Language is an open system and develops with the progress of society. Vocabulary, the basic meaning unit, is the most active, sensitive, representative, and open element in the process of language changes, which reflects the changes of society. The appearance of new words is the result of social development and new things. During the speed development of modern society, the abundant material life results that more and more people pursue the enjoyment of the mental level. Meantime, the patterns of entertainment are more and more variable. Therefore, a great number of fresh recreational words are created. Generally speaking, these neologisms are firstly occurred on the English news. Because of their novelty, the translation strategies have their own characteristics. The translation of recreation neologisms in English news mainly focus on free translation and should coincide with the formation regulations of Chinese.
This thesis aims to analyze the word formation and translation strategies of recreation neologism in English news. Through analysis, people can learn English in a relaxed and enjoyable way. It plays an important role to promote the communication of society and culture. Meanwhile, a large number of recreation neologisms frequently used reflect the creativity and productivity of languages. 语言是一个开放的系统，它随着社会发展而发展。作为不断发展变化着的语言各要素中，词汇又是最活跃、最敏感、最具代表性、最具开放性，同时也最具有时代意义的要素。英语新词新语的不断涌现就充分显示了这一特点。在现代社会发展过程中，物质生活的丰富使得人们越来越重视精神层面的享受，人们文化、娱乐方式越来越多元化。因此，大量的新鲜文娱词汇应运而生。然而这些新词一般都是最先出现在新闻英语中。因为其新，所以在翻译策略上，也有其不同于其他的独特之处。新闻英语中文娱新词的翻译应该以意译方式为主,应该符合汉语的构词规律。
