《白鲸》的人性价值与文化意义

赫尔曼•麦尔维尔通过小说《白鲸》描述亚哈船长带领“裴廓德号”全体船员疯狂追逐白鲸的故事，讲述了故事叙述者以实玛利、船长亚哈、标枪手魁魁格等人的不同人生观，从而反映了作者自身的价值取向。于此同时，被誉为美国“民族史诗”的《白鲸》也经由麦尔维尔的如椽之笔，揭示了十九世纪美国人所具有的民族、宗教文化以及他们经济追求背后的巨额代价。

Human Value and Cultural Significance of "Moby Dick"

Abstract

Herman Melville described in the novel "Moby Dick" how Captain Ahab and his crew on the "Pei profile Tak number" madly chased the white whale. The narrator reveals the different values of Ishmael, Captain Ahab, Javelineer Quebec and thus reflects the author's own value orientation. At the same time, "Moby Dick", hailed as American national epic, Melville’s powerful writing, also describes the ethnic, religious culture of the nineteenth century Americans and the economic cost behind the pursuit of the Americans.
