中英文中“红”的文化内涵对比研究

BSTRACT

With the advance of times and the rapid improvement of science and technology as well as the social progress, cross-cultural communications and penetrations among different cultural communities are being quickened. Language and culture are inseparable. Color words are cultural carriers with copious expressiveness. Among all the color words, the color of red possesses unique fascination. Since there exist generality as well as individuality in the association of color words with different things by people with different cultural backgrounds, connotations of red in both Chinese and English embody similarities and dissimilarities.
This paper elaborates the connotations of red in Chinese and English, and introduces the definition of culture and language and further explores the relationship between culture and language. It makes a contrastive analysis of the similarities and dissimilarities of red in English and hong in Chinese by citing some examples, analyzing the causes accordingly. This paper aims to benefit cross-cultural communication and translation in related fields through the contrastive analysis of the similarities and dissimilarities of red in English and hong in Chinese.

随着时代的发展、社会的进步和科技水平的不断提高，来自不同文化背景的人们之间的交往与融合也不断加强。语言和文化是密不可分的。颜色词是极富表现力的文化载体，而在所有的颜色词当中，红色具有独特的魅力。由于不同国家和地区的人们对同一颜色所产生的联想有共性，也有个性，红色在中英文中的文化内涵也必然既有相同点也有差异性。
本文阐述了颜色词“红”在中英文中的文化内涵，介绍了文化和语言的定义，并深入探讨了二者之间的关系；对中英文中“红”的文化内涵进行了对比研究，举例说明了其相似性和差异性，并分析了形成这些相似性和差异性的原因。本文旨在通过对比分析中英文中“红”的文化内涵，以期对跨文化交际和相关领域的翻译工作有所裨益。
