论《白鲸》的象征意义

《白鲸》是美国作家赫尔曼麦尔维尔的代表作，被认为是世界上最有象征意义的小说之一。本论文集中分析了文章中主要角色的象征意义。
本论文共由五部分组成，第一部分简单介绍了麦尔维尔及《白鲸》；第二部分对作品中白鲸及埃哈布船长的象征意义进行了深入的研究。第三部分着重探讨了埃哈布船长与白鲸之间关系的象征意义。第四部分中对于文章中运用象征手法的意义进行论述。第五部分为结论，重申主题。

Abstract

Melville is best known for Moby Dick which is one of the world’s greatest symbolic novels. This paper is concentrates on an analysis of the symbolic meanings of the main characters.
There are five parts in this paper. Part one introduces the author Herman Melville and Moby Dick. Part two chooses Moby Dick and Captain Ahab’s symbolic images to make a further study on them. Part three focuses its research on the symbolic meanings of the relationship between Captain Ahab and Moby Dick. Part four discusses the significance of symbolism. Part five is the conclusion, pointing out the main theme of this thesis.
