《无声告白》中莉迪亚的悲剧分析Celeste Ng (1980- ) is a well-known Chinese American writer. Everything I Never Told You was her first novel, which took six years to finish, and aroused a hot and thought-provoking discussion upon publication. It became the New York Times bestseller and won the top one Amazon book of the year in the United States. With Lydia, a young girl overloaded with her parents’ expectations, as the main character, the book tells the story of a Chinese-American interracial family in the 1960s and 1970s. The subject also touches on themes such as family education, racial prejudice, gender, etc. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter introduces the life background and experiences of the author and the storyline of the novel. The second chapter introduces the tragic life of Lydia. The third chapter analyzes the causes of the tragedy from the perspective of the family. The final chapter shows educational significance of the family and puts forward relative suggestions, helping people to re-examine family relationships and reflect on the shortcomings of family education.
