Feminism in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CatsAbstract: Feminism means that women are inherently equal to men and deserve equal rights and opportunities. Musical is one specific kind of opera. The musical is often the response to the reality, as well; it can tell the public the importance of spiritual life. The musical Cats is a wonderful work. This thesis deals with Webber’s Cats in terms of feminism. It mainly focuses on several aspects, including lines and song lyrics, dance movements, background music, stage setting and so forth, in order to show feminism in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. 摘要: 女性主义是指妇女和男人天生平等，应得到和男人平等的权利和机会。音乐剧是一种特殊的舞台剧。音乐往往能反映现实；同时告诉观众精神生活的重要性。而音乐剧《猫》就是一部精彩的作品。本文主要研究女性主义在《猫》这部作品中的表现。本文从台词和歌词、舞蹈动作、音乐背景、场景布置等多个方面来体现安德鲁•劳伊德•韦伯的《猫》中的女性主义。
