论汉语政治文献的英译策略
Strategies on English Translation of Chinese Political Texts
 
The thesis studies what kind of text political texts belong to, what functions political texts have according to Newmark’s text typology, and to achieve these functions what kind of translation strategies should be taken in translation at lexical level and syntactic level. The study shows what principles translation of political texts should conform to, how and why the two different translation strategies are employed in translation of political texts due to different purposes, and what details should be paid attention to when the translation approaches are used. The study finds that foreignization in translation at lexical level is effective to achieve the expressive and vocative functions and domestication works well in achieving the vocative function and promoting acceptability in translation at syntactic level, and a fine combination of the two is advisable due to different purposes.

论汉语政治文献的英译策略
 

本文主要根据纽马克的文本类型说研究政治文献的文本类型及其功能，以及在政治文献的英文翻译中为实现这些功能在词汇层面和句法层面应当分别采取怎样的策略。研究表明在政治文献翻译中应遵循怎样的原则，应在何种目的与情况下分别采用归化与异化策略，以及在应用中具体应该注意的问题。研究得出为实现表达与呼唤功能，在词汇层面应用异化策略较为有效，而为实现呼唤功能，使表述更为读者理解接受在句法层面则更适合采用归化策略，但单一使用一种策略是无法将翻译做好的，在翻译策略的使用上需灵活变通。
