从关联理论视角浅析科技英语中名词化结构的翻译
摘  要

名词化结构广泛应用于科技文体。作为科技英语的一个重要语体标记，名词化结构可产生语言简洁，语篇连贯，表述客观的效果。科技英语涉及自然科学的各个学科，关联理论能较好地解决在其翻译过程中碰到的许多难题，对其翻译实践有实际的指导作用。论文以关联理论为理论基础，从分析名词化结构的类型和功能入手，探讨了科技英语中名词化结构的翻译，认为在翻译时译者应先对作者原意及其认知语境做出准确推测，取得最佳关联，以期实现更好的理解效果，给出最佳的译文，从而更好地为科学技术交流服务。

On Translation of Nominalizations in English for Science and Technology From the Perspective of Relevance Theory

 
ABSTRACT

Nominalization is extensively applied in various texts, especially used in English for Science and Technology (EST). As an important stylistic marker of EST, it can produce many positive effects such as compacting the text’s structure, making the language coherent, and expressing facts objectively. EST involves various fields of natural science. Relevance Theory can well resolve lots of difficult problems in the course of translation, which has practical guiding functions on it. Based on Relevance Theory, this paper analyzes the main types and functions of nominalizations, and then discusses the translation of nominalizations in EST. The author finds that, under the guidance of Relevance Theory, the translator should firstly make a correct inference of the original intention and cognitive context before the translation, and then achieve optimal relevance and the best understanding to give the best translation, so as to better serve science and technology communications.
