农村和城市学生英语学习风格对比研究
摘  要

学习风格是指一个人在学习状态下最典型的行为,感觉,和处理新信息的方式。学习风格对学习和教学结果有举足重轻的作用。为进一步促进中国高校英语课堂教学,了解学生学习风格,为教师提供参考,使其教学风格适应学生的学习风格;同时让学生明确自己学习风格的长处和短处,并根据自己学习需要做出恰当的调整,培养和丰富学生的学习风格,文章采用问卷和访谈的形式对来湖南工业大学来自城市和农村的不同系别的一、二年级120个大学生的英语学习风格进行调查,揭示农村和城市学生学习风格的异同。调查结果分析表明农村学生更多倾向于独立学习方式,城市学生则更多采用合作学习的方式。农村和城市中学教师教学方法不同对学生的学习风格有决定性的作用。因此教师应该针对来自不同地区的学生的学习风格规划课堂,调整教学风格,通过各种学习活动使不同学习风格融合起来。学生也应该根据不同的学习环境通过参与不同的学习活动调整自己的学习风格。

A Contrastive Study of the Learning Styles of English Learners from Urban and Rural Districts
 
ABSTRACT

Learning styles are typical ways in which a person behaves feels and processes information in learning situations. Learning styles play a very important role in English learning and teaching. For the purpose of tailoring language instruction to respond to students’ diverse learning styles and enriching students’ present learning styles, the present paper examines learning styles of 120 freshmen and sophomores from Hunan University of Technology. The survey shows that there are differences between students from rural and urban districts; more rural students prefer individual learning style while most urban students prefer group learning. The survey also shows that the variety of the students’ learning styles is related to the different teaching styles of the two districts. Therefore teachers of a mixed class should adjust their teaching methods according to students’ varied learning styles, planning varied activities in teaching in order to make various learning styles exist harmoniously. Students on the other hand should change their learning styles too by participating in all kinds of learning activities.
