母语对中国大学生英语写作过程的影响
摘要:基于中、英两种语言使用者的思维差异——东方语言较迂回,而西方语言则更为直接——中国学生在英语写作中往往会出现许多问题。宏观的看,不同文体的写作会有不同的问题;微观的看,词汇、句法、语篇衔接等其他细节上都充斥着母语的负面影响。本文试图用对比分析理论、偏误分析理论和输入假设,从多方面深入地探究母语对外语写作的影响,并通过问卷调查和面对面访谈的形式找出问题所在,加以改之以提高大学生英语写作水平。值得一提的是,本文还指出在英语写作中母语还有不少的积极影响。因此,通过分析,我得出,学生必须增强可理解输入并适时摒弃母语带来的消极影响来提高英语写作水平。

WRITING PROCESS FOR CHINESE COLLEGE STUDENTS

Abstract: As Chinese and English have totally different thinking patterns—Chinese as one of oriental languages is more roundabout while the English language is much straighter—there are varieties of problems in the process of writing in English of Chinese students. In the macro view, different literary forms cause different problems; in the micro view, there are negative influences of mother tongue in lexis, syntax, discourse cohesion and other aspects. This paper tries to make an in-depth exploration into how mother tongue affects the English language writing process of Chinese college students through questionnaire and face-to-face interviews in the framework of contrastive analysis, error analysis and input hypothesis. Hopefully this paper will help students develop their abilities of English language writing. What is worth mentioning is that this paper points out that there is positive transfer in the process of mother tongue influencing English language writing. Through the analysis, I find that in order to improve English writing ability, students should strengthen comprehension input and abandon the negative effect caused by mother tongue.
