华裔作家谭恩美作品《喜福会》中母女关系分析

谭恩美是当今美国最具影响力的华裔作家之一，其成名作《喜福会》发表以来影响巨大,掀起了华裔美国文学的又一次高潮。这本书关注的不仅在于母女关系这一主题，而且还进一步探讨体现在两代华裔身上的东西方文化冲突。小说中的母女之间的冲突频繁。通过分析，谭恩美的小说《喜福会》中四对母女之间的冲突，其实是由东西方不同的文化传统、对生存的不同理解以及华裔在美国社会的处境所造成的，也即是东西方文化之间的冲突。本文通过对母女不同的生活背景和生长环境的比较和对母亲们在中国生活的故事经历及其对女儿们的影响的评论，从而分析《喜福会》中东西方文化的差异以及总结两代华裔之间的冲突引起的主要原因。同时，本文还将介绍现代女性在婚姻生活中所扮演的角色。作者希望，本文能帮助现代女性在日常生活中创造和谐的家庭关系并能勇敢地面对来自她们的婚姻的任何挑战和压力。另外，尽管本文的观点并不全面，作者还是希望能给那些正在面临家庭问题的女性们一些小小的建议和参考。

Abstract
Amy Tan is one of the most influential American Chinese writers in America today. The novel The Joy Luck Club, which brings her into fame, has evoked another round of Chinese American literature’s popularity in the world since its publication in 1989. This book focuses on not only the theme of mother-daughter relationships, but also the colliding between Chinese and American culture, and its influence on the Chinese-American’s mind. In the novel, conflicts between mothers and daughters arise very frequently. By analyzing the conflicts among the four pairs of mothers and daughters in her novel, The Joy Luck Club, the conflicts between the mothers and daughters reflect in fact, the conflicts between the two cultures. Via a study of Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club, this essay discusses the cultural conflicts between the East and the West as manifested by the conflicts between two generations of Chinese Americans in the novel through comparing with the different backgrounds and growing environments of the Chinese mothers and American daughters and commenting on the miserable life of four Chinese mothers and its influence on their American daughters. Meanwhile, this paper also deal with what roles women are playing in the marriage. In the writer’s opinion, making a research into this problem may help modern women form a more harmonious family relationship in their life, and also help them face bravely whatever challenges and pressures that they are confronting in their marriage. Apart from that, through the paper is not very professional, the writer hopes that it can be a good suggestion to those women who have problems on their family.
