文化差异对礼貌用语翻译的影响

本文旨在探讨文化的不同对于汉英两种语言的之间的翻译所造成的影响。在本论文中， 作者以礼貌用语的翻译作为例子，对比分析两种文化的不同。中国文化与西方文化的不同在于其文化起源不同，传统不同，发展历程不同，宗教信仰不同，以及社会价值观念不同。译者有时会发现在一种语言里，找不到另一种语言与之对应。但两种语言也有相同的表达。对于找不到一一对应的翻译的语言，译者应该了解译入语和源语的不同，从而寻找到最合适，最贴切的表达。本次研讨总结了对于礼貌用语的一般翻译方法，最通用的一种翻译方法是“功能等值”。通过阅读本文，人们在交际中可以减少对于文化冲突的误解。这样，人们就更容易达到交流的目的。

On Effect of Cultural Differences on Translation of Courtesy Expressions
Abstract
This paper aims to find out how cultural differences influence translation between Chinese and English. In the thesis, taking translation of courtesy expressions for example, the writer analyses the difference by comparison. Chinese culture and western culture are different in origins of culture, traditions, process of development, religious beliefs and social value. Sometimes, translator cannot find a word from this language to express the same thing in another language. However, based on the differences of culture, there are some expressions which can be translated perfectly because these two kinds of cultures have the same expressions. For those expressions which cannot be found in the other language, translator should know the difference between the two languages and find out the most similar one. This study summarizes the common skills for translation of courtesy expressions, the most common one of which is functional equivalence. This thesis tries to analyze the causes of culture shocks in order that people can get to know each other easier with less barriers in communication.
