摘要:自从1978年中国实行改革开放以来,中国旅游业开始进入一个迅猛发展的时期。中国人民也不再仅仅满足于国内的文化与风景,人们也逐步走出国门,到世界各地领略异地风情。出境旅游成为中国旅游业的主要发展趋势之一。在旅游这一跨文化交际活动中,旅游业与英语——世界最通用的语言——结合形成了具有自己特色的旅游行业的专业英语。旅游英语具有独特的语言特色,形式多样,且涉及内容广泛。文中将详以说明。旅游英语文本是呼唤型功能文本之一,具有宣传旅游资源及国家文化以及激发游者的兴趣,诱导游者消费行为的目的。但是由于中西方国家之间存在文化差异、思维方式差异以及语言风格差异,这些造成了旅游英语翻译的难度与重要性。当中国游客在外国观光时的,当宣传异国景点时,如何在奈达的“功能对等理论”的指导下,以偏向译语,侧重读者的方向为准则,运用实用的翻译技巧,最好的等效传达源语文本的信息,使源语文本达到同样的效果,成为旅游英语译者的目标。

Tourism English and Its Translation into Chinese

Abstract: Since China has carried out the policy of reform and opening to the outside world in 1978, Chinese tourism industry has got into a rapid development. Exchange in all areas between China and foreign countries have also expanded. Chinese people not only like to travel at home, but also tend to go abroad and sightsee the exoticism. Consequently, outboard tourism becomes one of major developmental tendency of Chinese tourism. English, as the most common language in today’s world, plays an independent role in the global tourism, in which Tourism English has came into being. However, compared with many other kinds of vocational English, Tourism English has its own characteristics, such as largest number of vocabulary, abundant culture connotation and the wide range it involves into. The thesis will introduce these characteristics through true examples. As translation of tourism English is a cross-culture translation, cross-cultural socialization, and cross-cultural communication, different thinking modes, cultures and language style lead to barrier and hardship to the communication the eastern and the western. As a result, translation of tourism English has become difficult and puzzled. By the principles of Functional Equivalence and practical skill of translation, how to perfectly translate English tourism material into Chinese has agonized professional interpreter, both equivalent with the information of source-text and reaching its same effect. And the most important is to emphasis on the position of readers. The thesis will put forward some practical skills.
