ABSTRACT
IIS, the web server software which was designed by the Microsoft Company, had became one of the most widely used web server software, depending on the absolute advantage that the windows operating system were widely used on PC. For building the web server of websites, IIS supplies a whole and easy managing and using plan. IIS 5.0 is the web server software combined with the windows 2000 and windows XP operating system. It is really an excellent choice whatever for individual or company to build a website. By the Internet Information Server window and the property window of the World Wide Web Server, the website managers can define the properties of the default and any other website neatly and fully, and achieve diversified functions.
Basing on the windows 2000 professional system, this article will show you how to install the IIS software and analyze the default documents and their code of the default website. By analyzing the properties of the default website, I will illuminate how to define them. At last, the way of establishing a virtual content of the website will be set out
