中西文化中龙形象的对比研究

随着全球化速度的加快，国际交流越来越频繁。而文化是国与国之间交流的重要方面，对双方有着不可忽视的影响。龙作为中华民族和中国的象征，包涵着深刻的文化内涵和独特的民族情感。而在西方，龙是个邪恶的象征，人们对其所给予的是负面的情感。在彼此交往中，如果不能全面的理解好相互的龙文化，则会导致运用混乱等不可预知的后果,还会直接关系到跨文化交往的效果，造成文化冲突、语言障碍等。本文以中西文化中龙形象差异作对比研究，探究它在定义、起源、神话、内涵四个方面所呈现的差异。通过对比发现，中国龙是源于几千年前人们对某种事物的需要而创造出来的有鳞有须能兴风作雨的神奇动物，而西方的龙出现比中国晚，是勇士们要时刻都想消灭的与鳄鱼相似的怪物；在神话故事中，中国龙所树立的形象是能够为一方百姓带来福祉的神龙，西方的龙则是带来各种灾难的邪恶魔鬼，；内涵也是截然相反，中国龙是崇高权威的象征，包含着宇宙观、发展观、和谐的概念、多元文化的概念。西方则代表了人类的阴暗面，包括贪婪、欲望和暴力。本文接着从生活环境、宗教信仰、风俗习惯、传统文化方面着手分析其原因。希望通过此次研究来区别中西方国家他们的民族文化特点，同时增加对中西方文化知识的了解，且以此来促进跨文化交流，突破在国际交流上出现的障碍，并希望获得各个国家的文化认同和理解。

A Comparative Study on the Dragon Images in Chinese and Western Culture

Abstract: With the development of globalization, the international exchange is increasingly frequent. Culture is becoming an important aspect of the exchange among countries, which can not be ignored. Dragon as a symbol of China includes profound cultural connotation and unique national sentiment. However, in the west, the dragon is a symbol of evil, and people give their negative emotions. In the communication for each other, if we can not understand the dragon culture well, it will lead to unpredictable consequences such as confusion use, and it also will relate to the effect of cross-cultural communication, resulting in cultural clashes, language barriers.
This thesis conducts a comparative study on the dragon images in Chinese and western culture and explores the differences of Chinese and Western dragon from four aspects namely, definition, origin, myth, connotation. In China, dating from thousands of years, the need makes people to create a magical animal with wings and beard. But the western dragon is later than the Chinese’s. It is a poisonous monster like the crocodile, which like create the fire and eat people. Then in many myths, on one hand, it can bring the benefit for people. On the other hand, it is a evil devil accompanying with all kinds of disasters. Moreover, in China, it is on behalf of an extremely noble honor, including cosmology, kindhearted view, the developing concept, multicultural concept. In the west, it is seen to represent the people’s weakness, including greed, lust, and violence. Finally, this study undertakes an analysis in terms of living environment, religion, custom, traditional culture to explore the reasons why they are so different. The author hopes this research can help to increase the understanding of the knowledge of the western culture in order to promote cross-cultural communication, break the barrier that appeared on communication, and hope to get every country’ s identity and understanding.
