浅论意译在中英文电影翻译中的提升功能

 本文主要探讨了意译在电影名称和对白翻译过程中的提升作用。在电影翻译过程中，常用的方法有直译和意译，直译一般是对照原版电影逐字翻译，翻译时所需要考虑的东西较少，所需要耗费的精力和时间较少；意译一般是先理解了原版电影所要阐述的东西，译者再根据观众的知识背景，与自己所接触了解的知识结合得到最终翻译结果，它需要译者有较大的知识面，同时也需要比较长的时间。好的翻译版本能让观众更好地靠近原版电影所要表达的意思，甚至从电影中获得巨大的乐趣和教育;差的翻译版本不仅是电影失去了原意，更在很大程度上会让观众对电影产生很大的歧义。为了最大限度还原电影的原意，特别是在翻译一些与文化有关的对白或者字幕时，意译对电影翻译的提升作用显而易见。

Abstract

This paper mainly discusses the enhancement of free translation in the process of translating films’ titles and films’ dialogue. There are two methods in translation process: literal translation and free translation. Literal translation is the method by which translators translate films word by word. During the process the translator does not need to think about many things, and spend less energy and time to finish it, while, in using the method of free translation, the translator has to spend much time and much energy. The translator should understand the ideas of the film first, and then translate the dialogue into the language that in the background and culture that the audience are familiar with. A well translated version can let the audience get closer to the original ideas of the film and also offers a lot of pleasure and makes the audience learn a lot from it. A bad translated version not only fails to show the original ideas of the film but also misguides the audience. In order to reorganize the original ideas of the film maximally, especially in translating the titles and lines that related to the culture, the enhance function of free translation is obviously clear.
