汉英电影字幕翻译的同步策略分析

随着各国间文化交流日益增强，电影产业作为文化交流的重要支柱越发受到广大观众青睐，电影字幕翻译也作为一个新生领域备受关注。近年来，许多学者从动态对等理论、关联理论、顺应理论、目的论等角度分析了电影字幕翻译策略。但由于电影字幕翻译受时间、空间、语境、电影类型等限制，因此仅从宏观理论分析电影字幕翻译无法得出系统的翻译策略。
本文旨在通过分析汉英双语字幕的“非同步”现象，提出对应的解决策略，以期更好解决英汉双语字幕翻译同步问题。第一部分简述论文写作背景，研究意义以及论文结构；第二部分介绍电影字幕翻译特点、限制因素以及字幕翻译理论；第三部分分析汉英双语字幕“非同步”现象原因，并从语义相关以及时间轴等两个方面提出解决办法。第四部分总结全文。

Abstract

As the world becomes more connected, film industry as a pillar industry of cultural communication has been favored by increasing number of audience. Subtitle translation of films, as a relatively new field, has been thus paid much attention. Many scholars have carried out relative analysis based on Dynamic Equivalence, Relevance Theory and Adaptive Theory. They also proposed relative strategies for an optimized translation. However, as the subtitle translation is restricted by display time, character space and diversified film types, it is difficult for us to raise a macroscopic systematic strategy and specific strategies thus are needed.
This paper proposes subtitle translation strategies through bilingual asynchronism analysis (e.g. Chinese-English) to foster better subtitle synchronism and cross-cultural communication. Part 1 briefly introduces of research background, significance and thesis structure. Part 2 introduces the features, constraints and theories applied in film subtitle translation. Part 3 analyzes the cause of Chinese-English asynchronism and raises probable solutions from the perspectives of semantic relevance and timeline. Part 4 draws the conclusion of the thesis.
