中西方面子观差异及其对跨文化交际的影响

面子，作为身份的一个重要方面，如今已被视为交际活动中的一个至关重要的组成部分。随着中西方跨文化交际活动的不断加速，交际行为过程中因面子观差异带来的误解和冲突等，都会对中西方跨文化交际产生一定的负面影响。
本文试图通过对比分析中西方面子观念差异及其存在的文化背景，揭示跨文化交际行为中可能因面子观念差异而引起的矛盾冲突，采用文献研究法,来了解中西方面子观差异的缘由及其对跨文化交际的影响,为中西方跨文化交际者提出一些意见和建议，从而加深参与交际活动双方的相互理解，以便更有效率地促进中西方跨文化交际活动。

The Differences of Face Perception between Chinese and Western Cultures and Its Influence on Intercultural Communication

Abstract: As an important aspect of identity, face has already been considered as a vital component of communication. With the constant acceleration of the intercultural communication between China and the Western world, misunderstandings and conflicts caused by different face perceptions  will lead to negative impacts on intercultural communications.
This thesis aims to do contrastive analyses on the different face perceptions and on their cultural background, so as to show conflicts that may arise because of the different face perception. By using the method of documentary, this essay tries to find out the causes of the different face perceptions, understand their influences on intercultural communication, and propose some suggestions to the Chinese and Western Communicators. Thus to deepen the mutual understanding between the two and promote the intercultural communication effectively.
