基于功能对等理论的《雨霖铃》意象英译探究中国古典诗歌是中国古代灿烂文化的宝贵遗产，古诗词翻译工作有助于向世界传播中华文化。柳永的《雨霖铃》是宋词典型代表之一，词中以种种凄凉、冷落的秋天意象衬托和渲染离情别绪，描绘出一幅生动的秋江别离图。其丰富的意象如何在英译中得以传递具有重要的研究意义。功能对等理论是一种非常实用的翻译理论,强调目的语读者与源语读者阅读感受的对等性，在翻译领域具有广泛的应用。本文以《雨霖铃》的杨宪益译本和裘小龙译本为研究对象，以功能对等理论为指导，关注不同译者对意象的处理方法，考察译文与原文中的意象对等情况，探讨切合对等所需的翻译技巧，并分析偏离对等的原因。这有助于读者更好地理解中国古典诗歌及其英译。
论文共分为五部分。第一部分为引言；第二部分阐述功能对等理论；第三部分对《雨霖铃》三个英译本中的意象翻译方法进行对比研究；第四部分基于功能对等理论考察译文中的意象是否与原文对等，并对不对等情况的原因进行分析；第五部分是结语。

On Translation of Images in Yu Lin Ling Based on Functional Equivalence Theory
Abstract: Chinese classical poetry is the precious legacy of the splendid Chinese ancient culture. The translation of Chinese classical poetry is of great help for the widespread of Chinese culture. Yu Lin Ling is one of the typical representatives of the Ci poetry of Song Dynasty. The rich applications of desolate, deserted images provide the poem with thick atmosphere of parting and paint a vivid picture of autumn riverside farewell. How can the images be fully delivered in the English translation is worth studying. Functional equivalence theory is a very practical translation theory, which stresses the equivalence of experience between the target readers and the source readers. Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, this paper attempts to seek the different treatments towards the images in Yu Lin Ling’s two translations translated by Yang Xianyi and Qiu Xiaolong and find out whether they have reached functional equivalence. Then the paper discusses the methods and strategies to reach functional equivalence as well as the causes of violations. This shall contribute to a better understanding of Chinese classical poetry and its translation for readers.
This paper is made up of five chapters. Chapter 1 is introduction. Chapter 2 illustrates functional equivalence theory and Chinese Classical poetic image. Chapter 3 analyzes the image translation in two translations of Yu Lin Ying. Chapter 4 inspects whether the image translation has reached the requirements of functional equivalence theory and explores the techniques applied to reach equivalence and the causes for the violations. Chapter 5 is conclusion.
