论凯特·肖邦儿童视角下的死亡叙事

    凯特•肖邦（1851-1904）因小说中超前性的女性主义题材而被重新发掘，而其儿童视角小说却鲜有人研究。这类小说以儿童为创作视角，通过自由间接引语、或淡化或戏剧性的情节，塑造了两类儿童形象：与世界对抗的流浪者，与世界调和的救赎者。肖邦的文字中常常弥漫着死亡气息，主要体现为三种死亡审美形态：自然老死、预示性死亡以及自杀。儿童视角下的死亡叙事，与肖邦的女性身份、童年经历及思想接受相关，体现了她对宗教的反叛、对种族平等的呼唤、对工业化的反思、对自然的崇拜以及对爱情的追求，为全面解读肖邦的作品提供了新视野。

Abstract

Kate Chopin (1851-1904) was excavated for her feminist writing. However, her children perspective literature has not been explored sufficiently. In these novels, Chopin employs children perspective, featured as the free indirect discourse, the diluted and the dramatic plot. Besides, Chopin builds two types of children images: the prodigal children against the world, and the redemptive children in reconciliation with the world. Meanwhile, Chopin’s works are full of death consciousness, which can be concluded into three aesthetic patterns of death: natural mortality, portentous death and suicide. The narratology is related to Chopin’s identity as a woman, her childhood experience and the thoughts influence on her. These novels have expressed her rebel against the religion, her thought of racial equality, her introspection of industrialization, her worship of nature and her pursuit of love, of which the analysis will hopefully provide a new sight of the research on Chopin.
