xx学院外教课堂的学生表现分析

在当今世界全球化的大背景下,无论是英语专业还是非英语专业,对英语的要求是同等重要的。随着国际交流的普遍化,外语教学也逐渐多元化。大学英语学习中外教教学的比重越来越大,一方面外教的出现使中国高校的大学生有机会学到更加地道的外语,给学生体验英语文化提供了更好的机会。但与此同时,外教课堂的问题也越来越多。由于大部分中国学生从入学的那天起就接受传统的中国教育,有的学生无法适应外教的教学方法,因此,在高校的外教课堂中出现了各种各样的问题,影响了外教课堂的教学效果。本论文在相关文化和沟通等理论的基础之上,着重研究高校学生跨文化沟通能力的现状、问题及提升策略,旨在提高不同文化背景下人们沟通的通畅性及大学外教课堂的教学效果。
    本文将分为以下四个部分:
第一部分的引言介绍外教课堂学生表现差异这一课题的背景、现状以及撰写本论文的目的和现实意义。
第二部分试着对学生的表现进行理论视角鉴定,将理论进行归纳,找出其特点,进行分类。
第三部分结合事例探讨跨文化理论在分析学生表现中的应用。为了弥补功能理论跨文化能力方面的不足,从学习者差异方面进行修正和补充。
第四部分,结论,包括论文的核心观点,存在的不足和局限,并对今后的研究提出建议。

Analysis of China Jiliang University Students' Performances in Foreign Teachers' Classrooms

Abstract: Nowadays, with the increasing trends of globalization and internationalization, more people from various countries and cultures start to communicate with higher frequency. English, as a major communication medium, now is attached with more importance simply because of its central status. Take China for example, all college students, no matter what majors they are in, have to take English-related courses to enhance their overall English skills. Moreover, more and more Chinese colleges and universities have started to employ English speakers from USA, Australia, etc to teach Chinese students English. On one hand, these Native English Teachers have surely provided a native atmosphere in their classrooms. Our students can enjoy the native English accents, and learn some real Western cultures which help accelerate the students’ English learning processes. On the other hand, however, students show various reactions upon these courses, and some problems are worth mentioning to better these native English classes.
Based on a critical review of selected relevant studies and with a historical perspective, this thesis, as a piece of  research, aims to point out what specific competences the ESL (English As Second Language) learners are expected to gain, and how well they have performed in the foreign teachers’ classrooms. For instance, the current study focuses on the intercultural communicative competence which includes the knowledge, motivation and skills needed to interact effectively and appropriately with members of different cultures. It is currently the highly favored type of competence after the sequential dominance of grammatical competence and communicative competence. With a central focus on intercultural communicative competence, I want to examine how the English Learners in China Jiliang University behave in their foreign teachers’ classrooms, and try to discuss some fundamental reasons for such various behaviors and provide some suggestions to better their performances.
