功能对等理论下商务英语询问函的翻译策略研究

随着经济的迅猛发展，中国与整个世界的接触和互动也不断地增强。英语商务信函尤其是询问函对商务活动有着重要的影响。优质准确的翻译有助于促进商务活动的成功。从目前对商务询问函翻译研究的情况看，还需要进一步的深入和系统，以保证商务询问函的翻译研究达到理论和实践的统一。
本论文首先对翻译、功能对等理论、英语商务询问函的概念以及当今的研究成果做出了简单的介绍，然后从用词、句法和篇章三方面对商务询问函的翻译进行分析研究，最后在功能对等理论的指导下，从符合译语读者的语言和文化习惯方面出发，拟定了具体的翻译策略和方法—直译、意译、直译与意译相结合的原则。

Abstract

With the development of economy and China's entrance into WTO, the interaction between China and the world has been increasing. The translation of English business inquiry letter is highly required. However, due to the difference between Chinese and English, the translation of English business inquiry letter is hard to maintain the original style and structure, and the quality of this kind of translation leaves much to be desired. An excellent translation of English business inquiry letter can not only benefit the company, but also facilitate China's economic development.
This thesis firstly introduces the concepts of translation, functional equivalence theory and English business inquiry letter and the current situation of the contemporary translation of business correspondence especially the inquiry letter. Then through illustration, the author will propose three effective translation strategies which included literal translation, free translation and the combination of literal translation and free translation. With examples taken from the translations of English business inquiry letter, the author analyses the translation of business English through three aspects: lexical level, syntactic level and textual level under the guidance of functional equivalence theory. Then draw a conclusion of the three effective translation strategies.
