论英语广告双关语的翻译


根据功能对等理论的指导,本文在充分考虑到双关语的双重含义以及广告语体风格的基础上,分别从契合译法、拆译法、套译法、侧重译法和补偿译法等方面对英语广告双关语的翻译作了初步的探讨。本文首先简析了论文背景和研究意义;其次介绍双关语的分类;再次探讨功能对等理论;然后着力分析英语广告双关语的翻译方法;最后部分为结论,重申主题。

Abstract

   Within the framework of functional equivalence theory, the author explores five effective methods to improve puns translation in English advertisements. Considering the double meanings of puns and the linguistic style of advertisements, the author puts forward methods as matching, expressing the double meanings separately, employing well-established translation, focusing on the significant meaning and compensation.This thesis first gives a brief introduction to the research background and the purpose of the study, and then presents the classification of puns. Next the paper makes an analysis of functional equivalence theory. In addition it proposes methods of puns translation in English advertisements. The last part serves as the conclusion, restating the thesis of the paper.
