英文电影应用于英语听说教学的探索

On the Application of Teaching English Speaking and Listening through English Movies

Abstract

Movies, as a very effective medium for teaching languages, can enhance students’ listening and speaking competence. By analyzing the feasibility and necessity of film class in applying into English classes, this paper firstly discusses four advantages of teaching English speaking and listening through English movies. The advantages include the authenticity of English movies, the idiomaticity of English movies and the influence in bridging the gap between the two different cultures as well as the advantages in eliciting students’ potential by motivating students’ interests. In the second part, the author points out three criteria for film selection, namely, teaching goals, influence to students and technology factors of movie itself. Then the author illustrates how to open a film class by offering some examples and advices. In the third part, by describing four problems and intractability that can be easily found in the film classes, the writer put forward the relevant solutions. In the last part of this article, the author comes to the conclusion that teaching English through English movies is worth trying. Film class has a bright future and we shall practice it from now.

电影,作为语言教学的一个有效媒介,不仅可以提高学生的听力水平,还可以改善学生的阅读能力。本篇论文首先分析了电影教学的4点优越性,对电影教学的可行性及必要性进行了进一步探讨。这四点优越性包括原版电影交际场景的生活性,真切性;原版电影语言材料的真实性;原版电影可促进不同文化的融合,扩展学生的眼界;最后一点是电影可激发学生学习英语兴趣,从而提高英语水平。本文第二部分作者从教学目标,对学生的潜在影响以及电影本身技术问题三个维度,阐明了电影选材的三个标准,并说明了电影教学应用于英语听力和英语口语的步骤及策略。在第三部分,作者分析了影片选择过程中容易出现的4种问题并提出相应的解决措施。最后,作者总结文章,得出英文电影用于英语听说教学前景广阔,整体上还是值得一试的结论。
