新加坡华裔儿童中文教材的沿革与反思


本论文通过对新加坡华裔儿童所使用中文教材的梳理,整理以往中文教材的使用背景及其局限性,分析华裔儿童中文教材中存在的问题,对分析出来的华裔儿童中文教材编写中存在的问题进行反思。论文在写作中采用了历史法、文献法、比较法和整合法等诸多分析方法。论文回顾了与新加坡华裔儿童中文教材相关的政府政策和官方报告书,阐述背景,提出重点,分析促使使用教材发生改变的社会、政治、经济等原因,并且说明与之相关时期下的华裔儿童中文教材的使用情况;同时在广泛阅读与论文相关的中外课程及会议报告、政府报告书、新加坡研究机构及大学出版的相关著作、当前世界第二语言教材及学习理论、国内外教材分析及评价研究现状的基础上,运用比较分析法,将最新一版的教材与以往的教材进行对比分析,对教材中的单元设置进行对比分析;以现有理论作为基础,思考问题,提出自己的看法。通过分析,我们可以看到传统中文教材的局限性存在于教材中文化内容过多、忽视语言基础的学习、教材各部分内容比例失调等问题,新版教材在这些方面做了相应的改进,实现了文化内容教育与语言基础教育的有效兼顾。一套好的华文教材应以科学性、实用性、地方性、趣味性为宗旨和原则,同时考虑到儿童的认知发展规律和当地儿童教育的实际情况,与此同时还有考虑到当地语言情况以及当地与国际接轨的情况等方面,只有这样,才能更好地为东南亚及全球其他国家和地区的华文教材编写提供参考范本。

Reflecting on the Evolution of Chinese Teaching Materials for Chinese-Singapore Children

Abstract: This paper analyzes the problems in Chinese teaching materials for Chinese-Singapore children by combing the Chinese materials used in Singapore and the using background and limitation of those materials. The paper reviews government policies and official reports related to materials for Chinese-Singapore children. It describes the background, proposes an emphasis and points out social, political, economic and other reasons why materials changes, and it explains the use of Chinese teaching materials in associated period. At the same time, on the basis of reading a wide range of papers related to Chinese and foreign courses and conference reports, the government reports, the research institutes of Singapore and University published works, the world's second language teaching and learning theory, and  analysis and evaluation studies of home and abroad teaching materials, it uses comparative analysis to analyze the latest version of the teaching material with previous material comparatively and do the comparative analysis of the unit set in the material. With existing theory as a basis for thinking and putting forward their own views. Through analysis, we can see the limitations of the traditional Chinese teaching materials are that there are too much cultural content and they ignore the language-based learning and teaching materials of each part of the imbalance and other issues. The new material makes corresponding improvements in these areas to effectively take into account of cultural education and language content of basic education. A good set of Chinese teaching materials should be based on scientific, practical, local, interesting, for the purposes and principles, taking into account the actual situation of the child's cognitive development, local children's education and the local language as well as local and international situation. Only by this way can it provide a better reference template on Chinese teaching materials for other countries and regions of Southeast Asia.
