沃伦夫人职业母女冲突中的社会问题分析An Analysis of the Social Problems Reflected in the Mother——Daughter Conflict in Mrs. Warren’s Profession
《华伦夫人的职业》是十九世纪英国著名戏剧家萧伯纳最有影响和最受欢迎的早期作品。它深刻关注社会腐败问题，而且主张社会应该为这种堕落负担责任而不是把罪责归根于个人。在这部戏剧中，萧伯纳刻画了两个典型的女性形象：华伦夫人，一个资本主义社会制度的牺牲品，为了生存不得不强迫自己做了一名妓女并以此为生；然而，华伦夫人的女儿微微则是一个独立，自信并接受过高等教育的英国中产阶级一员。由此在他们之间展开了一场激烈的混战。本文从两代人之间的代沟，母女之间不同的金钱观，不同的婚姻观等这些原因中分析出母女的冲突，进一步探讨了母女之间在冲突中所反映出来的社会问题的具体体现。同时也表达了作者对资本主义社会被剥削者的深切同情。

Abstract: Mrs. Warren's Profession is the most remarkable and popular play of Bernard Shaw’s early works in the 19th century. It is concerned with social corruption, and it holds that the blame for the lapse from virtue should not be put on the individual but on the social system that fosters it. In the play, Shaw portrays two typical female images: Mrs. Warren, a victim of capitalist system, who is forced to prostitute herself for survival; Mrs. Warren’s daughter, Vivie, is an independent, confident, highly educated member of the young English middle class. A conflict starts between the two. Based on the analysis of the reasons that cause the conflict between the mother and the daughter, we can easily understand that the generation gap, different values toward money, different views on marriage and so on always account for such conflicts. This paper aims to probe into the social problems reflected in Mrs. Warren’s Profession and to show the author’s great sympathy for the exploited in the capitalist system.
