浅谈《呼啸山庄》中人性的扭曲与复归

《呼啸山庄》是19世纪英国著名女作家爱米莉·勃朗特的唯一一部小说。这部小说被认为是英国文学史上一朵奇葩。小说主人公希斯克利夫的性格是矛盾的，他曾是一个具有诸多美德的少年，后来成为人性扭曲的疯狂复仇者，直至最终人性复归。希斯克利夫性格的演变过程，表明了当时社会等级观念和偏见对人性的伤害；复仇历程的种种纠葛缠绕，反应了人性的复杂深邃；复仇故事结局的人性复苏，表现了人性终将不可湮灭。希斯克利夫的人生悲剧，揭露了社会的罪恶现象，鞭笞了世俗等级观念对人精神的伤害。小说中人性的刻画和狂飙猛烈的情感给人留下了极为深刻的印象。

Abstract
Wuthering Heights is the only novel of Emily Bronte, a woman writer in the nineteenth century. This novel is praised as a miracle in the English literature. Heathcliff is the protagonist of Wuthering Heights and his character is ambivalent. Heathcliff changed from a good teenager to a revengeful man with distorted heart and finally revives the kindness of heart. Heathcliff’s character transformation demonstrates that the humanity is damaged by hierarchy and prejudice in the deformed society. The process of revenge is entangled with various imbroglios. At the end of the novel, the regained of good nature embodies the imperishability of human nature. The tragedy of Heathcliff’s life reveals the evil of the society and castigates damage of the mundane hierarchy to human beings. The depiction of human nature and fierce emotion leaves us a deep impression.
