合作学习在英语口语教学中的应用


随着社会的不断发展和经济全球化的日益深入,国际间的合作与竞争逐步深化。因此,良好的英语口头表达交际能力及应用能力成为衡量人才的一个重要指标。1999年国家高校扩招政策的颁布以后,独立学院如雨后春笋般出现,学生数量激增,教师资源缺乏,导致大班型以教师为中心的授课方式的出现。而新的教学大纲将学生英语口头表达能力的培养视为关键,因此,独立学院英语专业学生的课堂学习效果及就业状况令人堪忧。因此,结合当前各类教学策略的理论及研究经验,本文采用了合作学习理论。
本文通过定性和定量分析,试图将合作学习作为一种新的教学策略应用于独立学院英语专业的口语课堂教学之中,并探究其效果。结果显示,合作学习针对本三类院校大班型授课模式的弊端有良好的改善作用,并在培养学生合作意识、集体意识和团队精神,增强学生学习策略性及学习主动性方面起到了积极的推动作用。

Abstract

With the rapid development and deepening of globalization and the society, international cooperation and competition increase gradually. Therefore, good English communication skills become an important indicator to measure talented people. After the enaction of enrollment expansion in China's universities in 1999, unattached institutes emerged, and the number of students in unattached institutes increased rapidly, leading to larger and larger class size and insufficient teacher resources, which brought about the boring large-size class and teacher-centered teaching pattern. However, the new Syllabus focused on the cultivation of students’ oral capability. Therefore, the learning effect and employment of students in unattached institute is dissatisfactory. Thence, through careful study about the current teaching strategies and research experiences, the research adopts the cooperative learning strategy to solve the problem.
This research does a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the application of cooperative learning in English major oral class teaching in unattached institute. The results show that cooperative learning not only is effective in large-size class teaching in unattached institute, but also makes improvement in cultivating cooperative consciousness, teamwork consciousness and positive learning attitude.
